A fire occurred at Witte Residence Hall Nov. 7 in a resident's dorm room.
The fire occurred in a room on the 10th floor. UW Police and Madison Fire Dept. officials said they believe the fire was caused by an unattended burning candle. Witte residents extinguished the fire. The fire, which remains under investigation, caused residents of the room affected to be displaced for the night. Officials said damages are estimated at $2,500.
