In response to the article \Madison City Council explores drinking ban for all city parks"" you printed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, I want to call attention to the Nov. 19 City Council vote on the proposed citywide peace resolution. I am disgusted that the City Council actions on smoking and drinking have been getting so much press while those on the war have been ignored. It's time to put down our drinks, stub our cigarettes and take action. The proposed peace resolution is a great way to act collectively as a city, as we did recently by passing the Civil Liberties Resolution to oppose the U.S. PATRIOT Act.
I urge readers to join the Madison Area Peace Coalition rally at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to show their support for the resolution and to contact their aldermen and ask them to vote yes to peace.
