A female college student was sexually assaulted Saturday morning when a suspect entered an apartment through an unlocked door on the 10 block of East Gorham Street.
The victim was asleep and awoke when a man she did not know entered her bedroom. The suspect assaulted the victim and then left the apartment. Later, he returned to the same apartment and tried to break into the apartment by prying on a window. Madison police officers arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. and took 24-year-old Joshua Doxtator into custody.
Doxtator was arrested on counts of burglary, criminal trespass to dwelling, disorderly conduct and fourth-degree sexual assault. He was taken to the Dane County Public Safety Building. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
