The job market could continue to be challenging for 2003 graduates, according to a survey by the Collegiate Employment Research Institute at Michigan State.
The Chronicle of Higher Education said the survey found hiring will be down by 1 percent from last year. It based on responses from 390 companies surveyed.
While employment in retail and a portion of liberal arts are improving, jobs such as those in engineering and computer science are continuing to face slowdown.

The overall trend of the companies surveyed, however, indicates that hiring is expected to increase by the end of the first quarter of the next fiscal year.
