We live in interesting times. It is not yet election day and already the activity of this campaign cycle has rivaled the tumultuous 2000 races which saw a dead man elected to the Senate and a 36-day showdown resulting in the crowning of current President Bush.
As demonstrated last year and promised this year with the departure of U.S. Sen. Robert Torricelli, D-N.J., and the death of U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone, D-Minn., along with a significant number of tight races in Wisconsin and nationwide, the value of one's vote cannot be denied.
With state governor seats and both houses of Congress on the line, both parties have poured millions of dollars into gaining an advantage and consequently, informing the public through every conceivable medium.
We strongly encourage you to take the time to vote today. As present and past elections have aptly displayed, your vote does matter. If you are from out of state and you planned to vote absentee, make sure your ballot is postmarked or received by the appropriate deadline. If you did not get a chance to prepare your ballot or you simply have not yet registered, you can still vote in the state of Wisconsin: Just bring a recent bill with your name and current address along with a photo ID to your local voting station and register on site.
