Raymond Pyle, a 25-year-old Madison man, committed suicide Tuesday afternoon and is suspected of shooting and killing a man at the Alterra facility, 1601 Wheeler Rd., according to a Madison Police report.
Pyle was visiting the facility to see his estranged girlfriend and drop off their baby. He then produced a rifle and shot and killed a male employee of Alterra.
The estranged girlfriend removed herself and her child from the situation, but was followed by Pyle. However, a female employee stepped in between the suspect and the girlfriend. Pyle then stepped back and shot himself in the head.

Police do not believe the shooting was a random act since Pyle knew the victim.
No one else was reported harmed.
