Doyle has minor lead for governor

In the race for governor, Democratic state Attorney General Jim Doyle appears to possess a slight lead over his Republican counterpart, Gov. Scott McCallum, according to the latest Badger Poll.

The survey of 539 likely voters showed Doyle with an 8 percent lead over McCallum, who claimed support of 35 percent of those polled. Libertarian candidate Ed Thompson received 6 percent, while Green Party candidate Jim Young received 1 percent.

However, when the responders were given the option not to choose a candidate, 48 percent said they were undecided while 26 percent said they would vote for Doyle and 20 percent supported McCallum.
