Wisconsin senior wide receiver Lee Evans underwent an MRI Monday that confirmed the worst: The all-Big Ten player sustained ligament damage to his left knee.
Evans was injured while making a 36-yard pass reception during the spring football game Saturday.
Surgery is not scheduled immediately but Evans will undergo a procedure in the immediate future.

The playing status for last year's Biletnikoff finalist will depend on the extent of the surgery and how quickly Evans is able to rehabilitate the knee.
Evans last season set the Big Ten record for most receiving yards with 1,545 and was a candidate for multiple national awards this season.
