BP Amoco drilling has serious consequences

BP Amoco is the third largest oil company in the world and was responsible for one oil spill every four days in a little more than a year's time. In September 1999, Amoco pled guilty to illegal dumping in their Endicott Oil Field in Alaska. Now BP is planning to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge'home to the ancient Gwich'in people, porcupine caribou herd, musk ox, black and brown bear, polar bear, etc. Given BP Amoco's disappointing past, it would be an irreversible shame to allow them to tap into one of the most complete, undisturbed, pristine ecosystems on the planet for an approximated six-month oil supply. Please encourage your readers to not support BP Amoco, who proclaims itself as the environmental leader in petroleum.
