There will be a memorial service Friday at 2:30 p.m. for the two UW-Madison seniors who died Christmas morning in a car accident.
The service will be in the On Wisconsin Room in the Red Gym.
Daniel Gross of Caledonia, Wis., and Sara Mitchell of Mukwanogo, Wis., both 21, were driving from Chelsea, a northern Wisconsin town, when, due to icy road conditions, Gross's car slid into an oncoming pickup truck, killing both students instantly.
The two, who were planning on marriage, were trying to reach Mitchell's home by Christmas morning to see Mitchell's 2-year-old sister open her Christmas presents, according to reports.
Both Gross and Mitchell had planned on graduating from UW-Madison this spring. Their families said Gross and Mitchell had wanted to become a pediatrician and she had wanted to become a dietitian.
\[Sara] found her soul mate,"" Pamela Halverson, Mitchell's mother, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
