Marching band deserves enthusiasm at UW games
I am writing to express my great love and support for UW-Madison music'specifically the UW Classical Guitar program and the UW-Madison Marching Band.
I was fortunate to see several classical guitar performances at Morphy Hall over the last few semesters. It is an awesome experience. The students who perform have a great deal of talent and put on a truly enriching show. This past Tuesday night, I attended a classical guitar performance at Morphy Hall featuring guest artist Brian Torosian. It was one of the finest solo musical performances I have ever seen. Classical guitar performances at UW are clearly one of the best, not-well-known things about UW-Madison.
Furthermore, I love the UW-Madison Marching Band. Mike Leckrone and the band do an amazing job. I have hockey season tickets to Friday night games. Every game night, I look forward to walking in, shaking hands with Mike and dancing the night away while the band plays. The first and second intermissions are, in my opinion, second only to the Fifth Quarter. Hockey is great for many reasons, but the band is clearly the true spirit behind the students and crowd at the Kohl Center.
So let's hear it for UW Music!
The next classical guitar program is a Guitar Ensemble Thursday, April 11 at 8:30 p.m. in Morphy Hall. The band will continue to rock this Friday and Saturday as the Badgers men's hockey team host the No. 1 team of the NCAA, Denver.
Show some support, start enjoying some great classical music, and dance with me and my buddies as the marching band continues to do its thing.
