A United Kingdom report from the Imperial Centre for Energy Policy and Technology for the Carbon Trust claims that a transition to low-carbon based industry is economically and socially feasible.
According to the report, the transfer to low-carbon technologies would spur on the low-carbon technology industry, and also the energy produced would be more efficient for consumption as well as production.
The report gives four areas to focus on in the future: research, demonstration and development; social and economic research on the feasibility of the switch; training to ensure qualified people run the program; and building international bridges to bring other countries into the program.
There has been no concrete response from the United States, even though it is the No. 1 carbon-emitting country.
