Sophomore Julian Swartz, who was planning on making his return to the Wisconsin basketball program this fall ??after taking a year off to deal with obsessive-compulsive disorder, has decided to permanently leave the UW basketball program due to mental health issues.
According to a press release by Wisconsin Sports Information, Swartz's decision was made in an agreement with his mental health providers, the UW Sports Medicine staff, and his family.
'I support and respect Julian's decision and I wish nothing but the best for him and his family,' UW men's basketball Head Coach Bo Ryan said.

Swartz is a native of Waukesha, Wis., and played in 17 games for the Badgers in the 1999-2000 season, averaging 1.5 points per game.
