I don't think that my interest in animation makes me somehow immature or nerdy (though I admit leanings in both directions). No, I think of animation as one of the truest examples of the spectacle of film. Animators create a fresh visceral world, controlling everything you see and hear, as well as the line between reality and surreality. To me, immersion into that world is far more satisfying than immersion into one of a live-action film.
