The Wisconsin Badgers (10-0-0 WCHA, 19-1-0 overall) defeated the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (5-7-0 WCHA, 9-10-0) by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, earning their 19th win of the season.

No. 1 Wisconsin (18-1-0) handled Minnesota Duluth (9-9-0) with ease Friday afternoon, beating up on the Bulldogs, winning 5-1. The Badgers played a slower game than usual, controlling the puck and keeping it on the Bulldogs’ side of the ice for much of the game.

The No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers (17-1-0) are back at LaBahn Arena for the first time in nearly a month this weekend to face Minnesota Duluth (9-8-0) in a two game series. Wisconsin split its two games last weekend in Washington D.C. with a 3-2 loss to Northeastern followed by a 4-2 win over Boston University. The Bulldogs will look to continue their hot streak this weekend in Madison. Minnesota Duluth has won seven of its last eight games and is riding a three-game winning streak.

The top-ranked Wisconsin women’s hockey (16-0-0) team continued its perfect season this weekend with a sweep of the then-No. 7 Cornell Big Red. Wisconsin is off to its second best start in school history, only behind the 2015-’16 team’s eighteen consecutive wins to start the season. The Badgers were mainly led by the play of forwards Sophia Shaver and Presley Norby this weekend. It was their efforts that propelled Wisconsin to its fifth and sixth straight wins against ranked opponents.

For the third week in a row, the Wisconsin women’s hockey team is facing a ranked opponent. After sweeping No. 4 Ohio State last weekend (now ranked No. 5) by a combined score of 10-1, the No. 1 Badgers (14-0-0) travel to Ithaca, N.Y., this weekend to take on #7 Cornell (3-1-0).

The undefeated, No. 1-ranked Badgers (8-0-0 Big Ten, 14-0-0 overall) wrapped up another perfect weekend, defeating, and therefore sweeping, No. 4 Ohio State (5-2-1, 7-2-1) by a final score of 3-1. The Badgers played a nearly flawless game, shutting down Ohio State’s offensive attack and putting nearly constant pressure on the Buckeyes defense all game.

In a 7-0 drubbing of the No.4 Ohio State Buckeyes (7-1-1, 5-1-1-1 WCHA), the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers (13-0-0, 7-0-0 WCHA) put on a clinic. Six different players scored and thirteen players had a point in what was arguably the Badgers’ most impressive win of the season.

The still undefeated No. 1 Badgers (12-0-0) are returning home this weekend for a series with No. 4 Ohio State (7-0-1) after sweeping No. 7 Minnesota last weekend. The Buckeyes will look to build on their near-perfect record with their only blemish being a 5-5 tie which ended in a 2-0 shootout win for Ohio State.

The No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers (6-0-0-0 WCHA, 12-0-0 overall) continued their undefeated season this weekend against archrival Minnesota Golden Gophers ( 4-3-1-0 ,5-4-1) in the Twin Cities, extending their record on the year to 12-0-0. In two tight games, the Badgers bested the No. 6 Golden Gophers 3-2 and 2-1, with the second needing overtime for a decision. It was the first time that Wisconsin has swept Minnesota in an away series since 2007.

Looking back on it, junior Tyler Zelen seemed destined to swim at the University of North Dakota. A third-generation UND athlete, his parents, Dan and Camille, met in the pool at UND and before that, his grandmother was also star in the water for the Fighting Hawks.

In its only home series of the month, the Wisconsin Badgers continued its winning ways. The women’s hockey team extended its winning streak, and it is now 10-0-0 after a convincing 5-1 victory against the Bemidji State Beavers (1-6-1). It is the second time in team history that the Badgers have started off with 10 straight wins, with the 2015-16 team being the last to do it.

This week, the No. 1 ranked Wisconsin Badgers (6-0-0) head to Mankato for a very familiar matchup versus the Minnesota State Mavericks (1-2-1). The two teams have played 83 contests all-time, with Wisconsin holding an impressive lead of 78-2-3. This season, the Badgers are a perfect 2-0-0 on the road, while the Mavericks have a disappointing 0-2-0 record at home.

For the first time this season, the No. 1 University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team is hitting the road. The undefeated Badgers (4-0-0) face the Syracuse Orange (0-1-1) in the Tennity Ice Pavilion in Syracuse, NY at 3 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

After another brilliant 2016-‘17 campaign for the Wisconsin Women’s hockey team, Emily Clark and Annie Pankowski were tasked with a difficult conundrum — stay at Wisconsin in 2017-‘18 or represent their national teams in the olympics. Ultimately, they decided to redshirt their senior years, and they will instead represent their olympic teams. Clark will play for team Canada in February, and Pankowski for the United States.
