Gallery: High school students take to the streets for #enough campaign

More than 5000 high school and middle school students from around Dane County walked out of classes at noon on Wednesday and gathered at the steps of the Capitol to call for gun control measures. The walkout comes as part of the #enough movement that has emerged out of high schools across the country following the Valentine's Day shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Horizon High School, located just a couple miles west of UW-Madison's campus, is the only recovery high school in Wisconsin. A new piece of legislation recently passed by the State Legislature would create a charter for a second recovery school located somewhere in the state.

The Flaming Lips with opener Cherry Glazerr dazzled the crowd last Friday night at the Orpheum. Their performance included giant balloons, unicorns and lots and lots of confetti.

Photographer Cameron Lane-Flehinger shot the action from a wild Frozen Four weekend. Wisconsin first beat Boston College in its semifinal game 1-0 on a goal with 17 seconds left. The next day, goaltender Ann-Renée Desbiens was named the Patty Kazmaier award winner, given to the top player in women's college hockey. Sunday, the Badgers came up short against Clarkson, losing 3-0 in the National Championship Game.

Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinal

After losing in their first Big Ten Tournament matchup last season, the Badgers fended off Indiana to advance to the semifinals. Bronson Koenig led the team with 16 points, while Ethan Happ tacked on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Wisconsin will face Northwestern Saturday afternoon with a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game on the line. Photos by Katie Scheidt
