Man arrested for sneaking into residence hall and entering women’s restroom

An 18-year-old man was arrested by UW-Madison police late Wednesday morning after he allegedly snuck into a UW-Madison residence hall, entered the women’s restroom and took pictures of a female resident inside.

Larry Seidl, who does not attend UW-Madison, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing after following students into Sellery Residence Hall around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday, entering a women's restroom and pointing a camera at a female resident, according to a UWPD incident report. Security camera footage showed Seidl entered several women’s restrooms before fleeing.

UWPD reminded students in the report to ask people they think might be sneaking into a residence hall to scan their IDs to enter the building.

Any Sellery resident who believes they may be a victim of this incident should contact UWPD.
