Badgers rally in finale behind flurry from Lavelle

On a cold fan appreciation night, the Badgers beat Rutgers (4-2-5, 9-3-6) 2-1 and secured the No. 5 seed heading into the Big 10 Tournament. The Badgers extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches with this victory at the McClimon Complex, remaining unbeaten against Rutgers and snapping the Scarlet Knights’ six-game winning streak. Corner kicks were frequent in the game; the Badgers took 12 corners, but failed to capitalize early in the game when they advanced into Rutgers’ attacking third.
