Softball: Badgers fall one spot in Big Ten with series loss

Despite earning its school-record 12th Big Ten win of the season, the Wisconsin Badgers softball team (12-6 Big Ten, 30-15 overall) fell to the second-place Purdue Boilermakers (12-5 Big Ten, 30-17 overall) in a crucial series that carried a lot of weight in the Big Ten standings this past weekend.

Softball: Badgers ready for non-conference doubleheader

Do not expect the Wisconsin softball team (11-4 Big Ten, 27-13 overall) to take the pedal off the metal now that they are in the final stretch of the season and have a quick break from the Big Ten schedule. The Badgers hope to keep their four-game winning streak alive when they host the Indiana State Sycamores (13-7 Missouri Valley, 18-26 overall) Wednesday afternoon at Goodman Diamond.

Softball: Badgers earn sweep of rival Minnesota

In the past, most Wisconsin softball teams would have been unable to surmount a large lead in the closing innings of a game. However, this year’s Badgers (6-3 Big Ten, 20-12 overall) are carrying a different attitude and swagger under second year head coach Yvette Healy.
