Welcome Back! Fall Semester ‘19 Previews

Madison is home to dozens of venues for taking in movies, plays, musicals and concerts. The Daily Cardinal highlights some highly anticipated events happening on campus this fall semester, as well as a few movies and shows for you to enjoy in between studies!

Lollapalooza 2019: Four-day Festival Highlights

The Daily Cardinal's Francisco Velazquez went down to Lollapalozza for the first time. Many of the most popular artists in the world were present for this year's festival. From Normani to Childish Gambino, here is a breakdown of the highlights from the four day music event.

Tarantino creates a masterful vision in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'

Tarantino transports us back in time to the late 1960s in sunny Los Angeles during the peak of Hollywood, where movie stars were respected icons, but several in the industry were unable to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood” follows former TV actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he and his stunt man Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) navigate through Hollywood in 1968-'69. Dalton is a fading actor best known for playing the fictional TV cowboy Jake Cahill in “Bounty Law,” an American television western series.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ an action-packed love letter to all Marvel fans

Already grossing nearly $2.5 billion worldwide at the box office, “Avengers: Endgame” is perhaps the biggest film event of the year. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe waited a year for the studio to deliver an epic conclusion that united all of the superheroes to defeat the mad titan Thanos, and directors Joe and Anthony Russo did not disappoint.

‘The Bells’: ‘Game of Thrones' Season 8 Episode 5 recap

After last week’s somewhat rushed and disappointing episode, HBO aired one of the best episodes of “Game of Thrones” by a long shot this Sunday. “The Bells” — an episode that shocked audiences and delivered stunning action — was rooted in powerful, emotional suspense that honored its complex characters.

Superorganism wows at the Majestic with eccentric, captivating theatricality

Superorganism is a well-oiled machine (assuming in this metaphor that machines are coalitions of incredibly theatrical, talented and artistic people and “well-oiled” refers to their well-put-togetherness and not to the amount of oil on them). The quirky octet displayed their musicianship with a multi-faceted and highly entertaining show at the Majestic on May 1.
