United States Representative Paul Ryan (R-W-1), who recent announced his support for candidate Mitt Romney, spoke to the gathered crowd. Though the atmosphere would heighten with excitement when Mitt Romney would take the stage, Rep. Ryan's speech, which ran much longer than Gingrich's, was one of the highlights of the morning.

Joined by his wife Callista, Gingrich's speech felt more like a veiled concession while still speaking highly of the important goal of conservatives to oust President Barack Obama from office. Many people in the audience quietly sat through Gingrich's speech in anticipation of the rest of the morning's speakers.

The three leading GOP candidates for the Republican nomination for President made their way through Waukesha, WI on Saturday, speaking at the Faith & Freedom Coalition sponsored event. Though the day was started by a contemporary Christian singer and speeches from leaders of the Wisconsin FFC group, Newt Gingrich was the first candidate to take the stage.

Newt Gingrich supporter and lifetime Green Bay resident Marilyn Aevischer had the opportunity to have a picture taken with Gingrich prior to the upcoming Wisconsin primaries. Aevischer said she's a Republican and has been all her life and when asked about her support for Gingrich she said "I think he's the smartest of the four," (referencing the four candidates for the Republican nomination, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich).

Next to Gingrich, a TV was showing FOX News piped in from the restaurant. The TV's remained on during the speech, though the volume was turned down. The event, held under an awning in the Kroll's West parking lot across the street from Lambeau Field gave Gingrich a talking point for analogies such as "playing ever quarter until the season is over." Sports analogies made up approximately 5 minutes of his speech. The rest focused on the failings of current President Barack Obama, and his promised support for whoever becomes his Republican challenger, just as he hopes that others will support him if he does get the nomination.

Ron Paul's stop on Thursday marked the beginning of an influx of GOP candidates to the State of Wisconsin. Newt Gingrich will be in Green Bay on Friday to meet with supporters at Kroll's West, and then will join Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney in Waukesha on Saturday.
