A house sits, cut in half, on the edge of a newly cut, 15 foot deep, river that caused Lake Delton to drain. Due to massive rains over the course of the weekend, Lake Delton in the Village of Lake Delton, Wis. flooded, and subsequently subverted, its dam and carved a 15 to 17 foot deep path to the Wisconsin River on Monday, June 9, 2008. The flooding washed out five houses along with it. According Dave Thalacker, a resident of the lake for 22 years, the entire lake drained in only about 15 minutes.
