One day after last Tuesday's election, Gov. Jim Doyle halted work
on the $810 million high-speed rail project—believing the rail
can't move forward when the state and Washington D.C. are not
cooperating partners. With this suspension, Doyle made the right
choice considering the poor state of Wisconsin's current economic
status.

Art Brut seemed destined to be a one-album wonder. 2005's Bang
Bang Rock & Roll synthesized caffeinated guitar hooks with
concise sentiments, but the delicate balance between their forceful
sound and their comprehensive tongue-in-cheekness was surely too
tenuous to hold. Four years after their debut, though, Art Brut
continue to defy the odds with their third LP. Art Brut vs. Satan
picks up right where the others left off, adding yet another
success to an already overachieving catalog.

old - fast. The hours aren't bad, and the people are great, but
when it's a slow news day, it's a slow news day. I go in and write
my briefs and then have the next several hours to waste away. As I
