For years my parents' fear was that I would try to drink my age
in shots on my 21st birthday, and, like so many others, would never
live to drive my own rental car. I never learned exactly how many
people die attempting this coming-of-age ritual, but I have heard
many times what motivates them to do so.

Unless you were one of those middle school kids who listened to
college radio at 1 a.m. on a Friday - you know, the program that
stars a burnout DJ who chucks up the most indiscriminate east coast
hip-hop that anyone can find - you probably have no clue as to who
or what Aesop Rock is about.

ranking Monday. They faced a rude awakening Tuesday, however, as
Michigan State gave UW its second Big Ten loss, 64-55. Here is The

focused on the team's upcoming game at Penn State Wednesday, but in
actuality Ryan found himself answering a wide variety of questions
ranging from the team's increased national attention to Washington
State coach Tony Bennett. And as usual, Ryan had an atypical answer
for every single one.

American. Corrupt. Dubious. Tough. Young. Since Chicago was
incorporated as a city in 1837, these are the adjectives authors,
politicians and celebrities have used to describe America's

of the West Coast. When author and playwright Oscar Wilde visited
the city in 1882, he commented, ""It should be torn down ... Your
city looks positively dreary.""
