Despite the Department of the Army’s announcement Sunday that the Dakota Access pipeline, initially planned to be built a half-mile from the Standing Rock Sioux reservation, will not be drilled, Wisconsin guard Bronson Koenig, a member of the Ho-Chunk nation and outspoken advocate against its construction, remains skeptical that Sunday’s announcement will better the situation that has become a global flashpoint in recent months.

With just over four minutes to go in the second half, senior guard Bronson Koenig dribbled toward his right, off a screen set by senior forward Ethan Happ. Koenig took two dribbles before he lost control of the basketball. He was tripped, not by a Creighton player, but by his own teammate.

After a long day of classes on a typical Tuesday afternoon, junior kicker Andrew Endicott needed to get his competitive feelings back. So logically, he challenged one of his specialist teammates to a competition to try and get his motor running. Wisconsin punter and kickoff specialist P.J. Rosowski was Endicott’s opponent. Their domain was ping-pong, a sport that is as similar to football as chocolate is to zucchini.

After back-to-back Final Four appearances, the Badgers struggled mightily to start the 2015-’16 season thanks to the departures of Frank Kaminsky, Sam Dekker and Josh Gasser. The team was reeling, and was just 9-9 several games into the Big Ten season.
