Thanksgiving was a happy time this year, mostly because the Green
Bay Packers only had one loss on the season and basketball was just

left for our Badgers and four weeks left in the season. As another
great year of college gridiron action draws to a close, I would
like to take a look back at the college football season that was
and point out the good, the bad and the ugly as this year's
football season has marched on.

The college football season has been second to none when it
comes to upsets this year. Just take a look at how the top spots in
the weekly polls have been changing. Every week for the past three
weeks, the No. 2 team in the country has fallen: first it was USC,
then it was Cal, and last Thursday it was the Bulls of South
Florida. In the past four weeks, there have been three different
teams listed as No. 1 in the country. Even more surprising, every
week for the past four weeks, at least two of the nations top six
teams have fallen, with at least one of those teams losing to an
unranked opponent.

To all the naysayers who think that the computers putting out
the BCS standings have a glitch and screwed up on slot No. 2: pipe
down. South Florida is statistically, and without question, the
second best team in the country. Can anyone dispute that an

already knocked off two nationally ranked teams is not worthy of
such a high ranking?
