On the first day of the spring semester, I walked into my Italian Film lecture in the lower level of Ingraham Hall. Trying to avoid accidental eye contact with the professor, I decided to sit near the back, but not so far back that it created a “This person doesn’t want to be here at all” vibe — whether or not that’s accurate is irrelevant.

A new pizza place recently opened under the University Book Store that serves New York-style pizza-by-the-slice. With no discernible signage, the pizzeria made its home in the hollowed out shell of the former Subway.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison will begin construction on the “Divine Nine” plaza this spring. The plaza will be located in the garden space across from the Walgreens on East Campus Mall, and it will be unveiled as a tribute to the Divine Nine in early May.

The University of Wisconsin Police Department and Madison police are currently investigating a rise in harassment geared toward female students on State Street, Langdon Street and its surrounding area that occurred over the last week. Authorities believe that only one person is involved, according to UWPD Director of Communications Marc Lovicott.

In October, The Daily Cardinal was saddened to announce that Chancellor Becky Blank has decided to leave the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the end of the school year to become Northwestern’s next president. The step down was taken not for professional reasons, but to make a break from the hunky and thoughtful Buckingham U. Badger and run away with longtime love Willie the Wildcat.

Lt. Gov. Barnes walked through and received a tour of the Red Gym Wednesday following Gov. Tony Evers State of the State address the night before. His visit focused mainly on the multi-cultural center, which is home to the Black Cultural Center, Latinx Cultural Center, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Student Center and American Indian Student and Cultural Center.

The Badgers got the Johnny Davis they know and love back, the rest of the team stepped up around him, and No. 14 Wisconsin (19-4, 10-3 in Big Ten) walked out of No. 17 Michigan State’s (17-6, 8-4) Breslin Center with an impressive 70-62 win Tuesday night, bringing UW back to a tie atop the Big Ten standings.

Wetlands are unique, important and beautiful landscapes that often go overlooked and unappreciated. Wisconsin was once home to 10 million acres of wetlands, but in the past 200 years, we’ve destroyed 50% of our wetlands. Three-fourths of Wisconsin's wildlife species rely on wetlands for survival, including a variety of threatened and endangered species such as Hine’s emerald dragonfly, a charismatic little bug with bright green eyes and amber wings.

Anyone who has ever talked to me probably knows that I watch a lot of films. If they have talked to me multiple times, then during one of those conversations I have probably confessed to them that I watch at least one film per day — sometimes more. This is usually when people become absolutely baffled, as they rarely ever come across someone who is as obsessed with films as me. It should not be surprising, considering that I come from a culture that worships cinema and puts its heroes on a pedestal. But, I digress.

It’s been a busy month for Cordae. He released his sophomore album, From a Bird’s Eye View, on Jan. 14, an ambitious 14-track project with several high-profile features, such as Freddie Gibbs and Lil Wayne. It’s a solid record that’s fairly reminiscent of his first album, with an emphasis on production that still lets him display his flow. But Cordae’s most impressive musical endeavor of the month came two days prior, when he appeared on Power 106 FM in Los Angeles to freestyle.
