After a long day of classes on a typical Tuesday afternoon, junior kicker Andrew Endicott needed to get his competitive feelings back. So logically, he challenged one of his specialist teammates to a competition to try and get his motor running. Wisconsin punter and kickoff specialist P.J. Rosowski was Endicott’s opponent. Their domain was ping-pong, a sport that is as similar to football as chocolate is to zucchini.

Resilience paid dividends for the Wisconsin women’s soccer team (5-2-4 Big Ten, 8-4-7 overall). On a cold fan appreciation night, the Badgers beat Rutgers (4-2-5, 9-3-6) 2-1 and secured the No. 5 seed heading into the Big 10 Tournament.

College Football Week 7 did not offer much in terms of upsets, but, despite the majority of favorites winning, there was still plenty of entertainment, including two significant overtime thrillers. Ohio State and Clemson both notably made things interesting, barely squeaking out wins in games where they were favored by at least 10 points.

Ohio State has been utterly dominant this season. The Buckeyes have crushed their opponents, outscoring them by a whopping 266-54. The Badgers will have their hands full this weekend against Urban Meyer’s juggernaut. Several individual matchups will play a huge role in determining the outcome of the game.

Sitting in his welding class at Mid-State Technical College in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, four years ago, Ryan Ramczyk was thinking about the sport he still loved. The first-team All-State left tackle in high school passed up Division-I offers to play football. Midway through the first quarter against Akron, redshirt senior tight end Eric Steffes lined up on a third and sixth as one of the two players at the end of the Wisconsin line of scrimmage. When the ball was snapped, Steffes ran a successful whip route, pretending to go across the middle of the field, before halting, spinning and sprinting toward the sideline. Redshirt senior quarterback Bart Houston pumped once and stepped up in the pocket before finding the open Steffes for a first down.

In 2012, long snapper Connor Udelhoven walked into the Badgers locker room as an anonymous walk-on looking to impact the Wisconsin football team. Five years later as a redshirt senior, he is still just as anonymous, but his impact no longer goes unnoticed.
