At their first meeting of the semester Sept. 19, the Associated Students of Madison (ASM) Sustainability Committee celebrated the GOLD Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) rating the University of Wisconsin-Madison was recently awarded, while calling for increased student and faculty involvement in combating the climate crisis.

When the University of Wisconsin-Madison launched a Women’s Physical Education Department in 1912, Wisconsin women did not have the right to vote. Women, only reluctantly admitted to UW-Madison in the first place, faced scientific misconceptions, double standards and restrictions from administration. But the department itself was always years ahead of its time, alumni said, from its early days to its eventual merger with the men’s program in 1976.

The No.7 Wisconsin Badgers volleyball team narrowly won three-of-four sets against the No. 15 Florida Gators in an intense showdown at the Kohl Center. The game brought roughly 12,300 fans into the Kohl Center and marked the first time Wisconsin beat Florida at home.

Senior wide receiver Vinny Anthony II has had a promising start to his 2025 campaign with the Wisconsin Badgers. Through Wisconsin’s first three games of the season, Anthony leads the team in receptions (9) and has the third most receiving yards (115). Anthony II, in his fourth season with the Badgers, looks primed to put up big numbers this year.

Last Saturday in Tuscaloosa, the Wisconsin Badgers got embarrassed. Playing against the then No. 19 Alabama Crimson Tide, Wisconsin committed stupid penalties, turned the ball over at will, were shredded in the secondary, failed to generate any sort of consistent pass rush and played with little poise or confidence.
