One of the greatest and most irritating ironies of collegiate
life is that students are simultaneously lauded as the bright hope
for the future by teachers, politicians and relatives while being
treated as the lowest common denominator by a majority of the
world's marketers and sloganeers.

The one thing that can be said for ""Van Wilder 2: The Rise of
Taj"" is that it answers the question: Could there be a Ryan
Reynolds sequel so bad that even Reynolds himself could not stand
to be in it? The star of such cinematic achievements as ""Just
Friends"" and ""Big Monster on Campus"" declined to reprise his
role in the sequel to his most famous and popular movie despite the
fact that it still bears his character's name. In his stead is the
usually reliable Kal Penn, but even he gets sucked down into the
abyss that is this film.

Rockstar Games, the noted producer of ""Grand Theft Auto,""
""Manhunt"" and ""Max Payne,"" seems adamant in living the actual

brings in a wave of publicity, controversy and ultimately,
increased sales.

American. Corrupt. Dubious. Tough. Young. Since Chicago was
incorporated as a city in 1837, these are the adjectives authors,
politicians and celebrities have used to describe America's
""second city."" It blossomed after New York. It lacked the glamour
of the West Coast. When author and playwright Oscar Wilde visited
the city in 1882, he commented, ""It should be torn down ... Your
city looks positively dreary.""

Thinking about going to Chicago? Wishing you could at least
think about going to Chicago but rent is due next week and you're
still trying to scrounge up some cash? Well, stop thinking and

Long days and even longer nights make Madison summers a time of
year when students look to soak up the heat and enjoy a world
devoid of papers and exams. However thousands of students returning

without many college students.

I'm graduating in two weeks. Leaving college behind forever, as
I have decided that at this point in my life, grad school seems
only slightly more appealing than being rubbed naked up and down a
gigantic cheese grater and thrown into a kiddie pool full of salt.
UW-Madison has been good to me and all, but I'm really looking
forward to going out into the real world and building a proper
grown-up life.

After Wisconsin's long and brutal winter, the arrival of spring
is welcomed by all. For many, the change in weather can mean only
one thing: It's time to grab your towel, bathing suit and some
sunscreen and head for the lake. With more than 15,000 beautiful
lakes to enjoy, Wisconsinites can be found everywhere fishing,
swimming and boating, the hallmarks of the warmer season in
Wisconsin.
