Penalties, errant passes and a goal-line opportunity gone awry are hardly the recipes for picture-perfect football. That said, the bizarre ending to Saturday’s game versus Minnesota was a perfectly fitting conclusion to the 2022 Badgers’ regular season.
Wisconsin vs. Minnesota is a rivalry as old as time — well, as old as 1890. The two have faced off annually for 131 years, making their feud the most-played rivalry in Power Five football history.
The Wisconsin Badgers (6-5, 4-4) host the Minnesota Golden Gophers (7-4, 4-4) to close out the regular season Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
When things have looked dire for the 2022 Badgers, they’ve invariably lost. A late fumble versus Washington State, leaky pass coverage at Michigan State and special teams domination by Iowa caused Wisconsin to lose each of its three most closely contested games.
