Lawyers for Steven Avery, who was charged with the rape and murder of Teresa Halbach, are now urging Gov. Tony Evers to acquit his nephew Brendan Dassey's sentence. In 2007, Dassey was also found guilty of murdering Halbach, a case made famous by the Netflix docu-series "Making a Murderer."

Upon receiving the news that University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank was to be the next president of Northwestern University, students at the school wanted to learn more about her. In response, a series of articles in North by Northwestern, a student publication, were published throughout January, February and March that provided the campus with a picture of Blank’s past that has dismayed many.

The elections for the President of the Italian Republic have never drawn much attention. The Common Council narrowly voted 13-7 Tuesday night to accept a $750,000 federal matching funds grant from the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing (COPS) Hiring Program. The grant provided by the DOJ is expected to provide funding for six additional Madison Police Department officer positions in 2023.
