A stuffy professor wrote a stuffy article that I had to read for
my stuffy law class. He argued that violent TV makes people
paranoid and believe they will become victims of a violent crime.
I'll take it one step further than Dr. Boring and his violence
study. Television makes people believe they will become rich
Californian pop stars hunted by zombies who can decorate a room
with designer furniture for less than $1,000.

Two openly gay legislators with their roots firmly planted in
Madison's political community are taking on an amendment that would
add Wisconsin to the list of nearly 20 other states with a ban on

Wisconsin's Constitution.

Madisonsingles.com is an easy-to-navigate and relatively
affordable dating website. However, the site is much better suited
for young professionals and adults than college students looking to
explore the dating scene. In addition, because the website's
subscription is cheap compared to other sites like match.com and
eharmony.com, some of the clientele seem prone to stalking and
badgering users instead of pursuing a legitimate, romantic
endeavor.

The Libertine\ is the most bizarre cinematic experience of the
year—both repulsive and intriguing—leaving the viewer anticipating
whether the next scene will hold a gothic crude orgy or a
thought-provoking speech.

Julian Barnes' latest work of historical fiction, Arthur &
George,\ incorporates one of history's most beloved authors into a
criminal case of his time. Barnes, who has been shortlisted for the
Booker Prize three times (including for this book), tells a tale of
Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the wrongly
accused George Edalji. Encompassing much more than a mystery to be
solved, the book delves into the culture of England at the turn of
the 20th century, the lives of two different yet similar men and
the experiences that bring them together.

American perspectives of Islam may be tainted due to a lack of
exposure and an inability of U.S. media outlets to adopt a holistic
approach of global coverage, experts say. According to the American
Religious Identity Survey, there are an estimated 1.5 million
practicing Muslims in the United States, dwarfed by the estimated
224 million practicing Christians, 38 million nonreligious or
secular Americans and the four million practicing Judaism. This 1.5
million in the U.S. is miniscule compared to the one billion
Muslims living in the world, according to polling data from
Adherent.

The Teaching Assistants' Association could end the nearly

with the state on Dec. 2. While the contract offers minor wage
increases, it also dictates TAs will pay for health care, according
to the TAA contract offer obtained by The Daily Cardinal. The
health care payment was the main point of contention in the past
two years, resulting in a strike and two-day walkout in April
2004.

largest gathering the State Street Halloween celebration has ever
seen.

For the film 'Mrs. Robinson,' Simon and Garfunkel created an
entire slew of songs for the soundtrack that functioned as plot
progression for the movie, but, on their own, they were excellent
and formed a complete album. The same can be said for the latest
Depeche Mode effort Playing the Angel, while each song is
strikingly unique, yet they all contain a pulsating rhythm that
flows with the synthesized beats throughout the album.
