The Wisconsin Badgers women’s hockey team (28-10-2) prevailed once again in the NCAA Tournament — this time against the rival Minnesota Gophers (30-6-3). After losing to Minnesota earlier in the postseason in a game that would have sent them to the WCHA title showdown, this win was especially sweet for Wisconsin.

Led by a career-high 36 points from Steven Crowl, the Wisconsin Badgers topped the Bradley Braves in the first round of the NIT on Tuesday night, 81-62. The Badgers earned a No. 2 seed in the “lower left” section of the bracket and hosted the Braves for the matchup.

The Wisconsin women’s hockey team (26-10-2) faced the Long Island Sharks (17-15-3) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday. Nine goals were scored by eight different Badgers as they took the 9-1 win over the Sharks to advance.

Another disappointing season has come to an end for the Wisconsin men’s hockey team. This year’s team finished dead last in the Big Ten with a dismal record of 13-23-0. Making matters worse, preseason rankings projected the Badgers to finish fourth in the conference. Furthermore, of the seven hockey teams in the Big Ten, five are ranked in the top 20 nationally with a sixth, Notre Dame, receiving 41 votes, essentially ranking 21st.
