Once you get past their name and acknowledge their adolescence, indie rock band Ritt Momney will blow your mind if you let them. A solo project of 19-year-old Jack Rutter, and revitalized as a result of heartbreak and Mormon mission woes, the group now consists of Rutter and three equally talented bandmates: Jonas Torgersen, Noah Hamula and Sam Olson.

One of the best stand-up comedians of all time is back with another hour of hilarity… and be warned: this one is harsh.

At this point, I feel like a broken record. When I started writing musical reviews for the Daily Cardinal, I thought I was going to have a wonderful time, writing uncontroversial reviews and love everything I went to see. But this is, unfortunately, not the case.

New Orleans indie-pop outfit Generationals performed at High Noon Saloon this past week with their low-key, Wednesday night set. The rustic brick walls lined with arcade games — think Alice Cooper’s Nightmare Castle pinball — of High Noon just sort of felt right alongside the minimalist, new wave vibe.

While they may try, few artists can make music that appeals to both mainstream and underground scenes. English pop star, Charli XCX, does it by not shying away from the bizarre, nor looking down on the popular. On Thursday, after releasing a steady stream of singles over the past few months, Charli released her anticipated studio album, Charli.

The fall season is almost upon us, and what better way to prepare for the upcoming premieres than to look back at one of the summer’s biggest hits. Offering an antithesis of the superhero genre, “The Boys” manages to be simultaneously provocative and fun in its approach.

In between marathons of “Harry Potter” and “Anne of Green Gables,” we have designed a watchlist called “Summer of Shows” that calls for long nights on the couch, the familiar whistle of the tea kettle and philosophical conversations about “that” tiny irrelevant scarf.

Stephen King’s masterful horror epic “IT” captured both the trauma and beauty of childhood in such a captivating fashion in 2017. The adaptation not only became the highest-grossing horror film of all time but was a mesmerizing and unforgettable game changer.

The first-time feeling compares to no other. It is handled with care. Though it shows in just about every small detail around you, I find myself lost at the vibration hovering, cutting corners and seeping between Grant Park.

We live in an entertainment era today where virtually every film produced is either a remake, a continuation of an ancient series or recycled story bits put together to make a film lacking any freshness. Leave it to the biggest film-lover in the world and one of the greatest filmmakers of all time to craft a film that not only eloquently reflects on the changing world surrounding pop culture and the entertainment industry, but to create one of the most original, charismatic films of all time.
