Wisconsin lawmakers on the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy conduct the state's first-ever hearing Tuesday on PFAS, a harmful water pollutant.

The graph above, produced by UW-Madison Professor of Environmental Engineering Christy Remucal and her colleagues, shows PFAS levels far above recommended EPA limits. Commonly found in firefighting foam and nonstick products, PFAS can have harmful human health impacts in concentrated exposure amounts.
