Photos: Tibetans from the Midwest take protests to Iowa

On Wednesday, approximately 500 Tibetans from across the Midwest joined together in protest of Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping's visit to Iowa. Jinping visited in 1985 while an agriculture official in his local province and met with then Governor Terry Bradstad. In this return visit, Gov. Bradstad was again in office and invited the Vice President to the Capitol for a reception.

Approximately 500 gathered for the Wisconsin Day Rally at the Capitol on Saturday. A number of speakers addressed the crowd on everything from education and the environment to unions and the recall efforts.

The Badgers, winners of the Leaders Division of the Big Ten, come back late in a tooth-and-nail battle with Michigan State, winners of the Legends Division, to win at trip to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl in January of 2012.

The Badgers played Saturday in the rain at Camp Randall for the last time in the 2011-2012 season. The Nittany Lions would score first, but the Badgers would go on to score 45 unanswered points to win the Leaders division and head to the Big Ten Championship on December 3rd in Indianapolis, IN.

Skiers and snowboarders took to Union South on Thursday night to compete in the 3rd annual Rail Jam sponsored by Hoofer Ski and Snowboard and area businesses including Focus Boardshop.
