Jul. 17, 2014The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department held a training exercise simulating a bomb detonation at Camp Randall Stadium Thursday, July 17. The event involved hundreds of officers from almost 20 agencies and volunteer actors to simulate injuries and deaths. The university held press conferences to update mock journalists on the situation.
Federal Judge Rules Wisconsin Same-Sex Marriage Ban Unconstitutional
Jun. 6, 2014U.S. District Court Judge Barbara Crabb declared Wisconsin's ban on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional Friday June 6, 2014 in her decision on a lawsuit against the ban filed by the American Civil Liberties Union. Couples flock to Madison City Hall to get married following the ruling.
Commencement 2014
May. 23, 2014For the first time in over two decades, the University of Wisconsin-Madison's commencement ceremony was held in Camp Randall Stadium. Graduates did not walk across the stage; however they did take part in one of UW-Madison's most popular traditions: Jump Around. Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman was the keynote speaker.
