UWPD arrests student for filming in bathroom

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department arrested a student for recording videos of other individuals in a dorm restroom.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department arrested a student Sunday for allegedly recording videos in a residence hall restroom, according to a press release.

The student, Braden Berndt, was booked into Dane County Jail on three counts of disorderly conduct and three counts of capturing images depicting nudity without consent.

Several victims shared similar reports of a cell phone with the camera lens facing upward being dropped between restroom stall dividers while they were using the restroom.

One victim grabbed the cell phone to see it was actively recording and had other recordings on the device.

The incidents were reported to the House Fellows of the residence hall who then contacted UWPD.

UWPD is still investigating these incidents. Anyone who believes they are a victim should contact UWPD.
