No. 1 Wisconsin hosts final home series against Bemidji State

After a successful series against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers will return to face the Bemidji State Beavers on their home ice this weekend.

The Badgers have proven themselves to be the team to beat, having not lost a game since their 2-1 defeat against the Ohio State Buckeyes in early January. In this stretch, they have outscored their opponents by a staggering 31-10 margin, scoring almost 3 goals for every goal put up against them.

Wisconsin will look to keep up their offensive power against the struggling Beavers, who have won only two games the entire season thus far, winning only one game in the past two months.

However, while this series looks to be a likely sweep for the Badgers, the Beavers have demonstrated their ability to play competitively with top-tier teams in the league, having recently split a series with No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth in which both games went into overtime and were decided by one goal each. The Beavers have demonstrated their ability to keep games close with more competitive teams, having only given up more than two goals once in their last six games.

This will be the Badgers' penultimate regular season series of the year, as they will face a tough Minnesota-Duluth team on the road the following week. If all goes as planned, this series will be a good opportunity for the Badgers to get some of their younger players more experience and tune-up before this more competitive match up.
