College 101: Fun and Low-Key Girls Night In Ideas

Sometimes, you may want to dress up and go out, but having a night in with friends is also appealing. There are a number of benefits. You can have fun while being in a relaxed and comfortable environment. It’s also a way to save money. You don’t have to worry about any drama happening at the bar. Spending the night in doesn’t have to be dull or predictable, either. There are many ways to have a great girls' night in.

Movie Night

Plan for a night of popcorn and movies, or binge a favorite T.V. show. You can use Free Trials to access both movies and television shows on a number of different networks. A great spin on a girls' movie night is to have a retro movie night and watch the movies that were popular when you were teenagers. Did you and your friends huddle together during Friday the 13th or plan your school rebellion along with The Breakfast Club? A movie night can be a great way to build new memories or revisit old ones.

Makeover Party

Plan a makeover party. You can give each other facials. If one of your friends is good at cutting hair that may also be an option. A full makeover can include scalp massages and shampooing your hair. You can also experiment with clip-in hair extensions and wigs to try out new styles. Paint your nails and share beauty tips. You can also check out some of the most popular beauty and makeup Youtubers currently sharing advice online. This is a great way to find some new styles and tips you can use in your everyday beauty regime.

Dig through your closets and clean out your drawers before a swap night with your friends. Bring the things you’ve never used that are just taking up space. This can be a way of decluttering and passing along wedding or birthday gifts that just weren’t quite for you. It can be a lot of fun to discover what’s been lurking in your friends’ homes. You also don’t have to take anything new home if you don’t want to. Unwanted items can be donated to a charity or thrift store that supports your local community

Food Party

Plan an exotic food party. Each of your friends can bring a different dish tied to a specific theme. Do you want to get a taste of Hawaiian food? Or would you like to replicate a dish you had on your last trip to Paris? Perhaps you’d like to have some southern barbecue. A themed potluck provides a great opportunity to catch up with friends over an original meal. You’ll also get a chance to try some new foods.

Photo Fun

If your group of friends has a good photographer in it you may want to plan a girls' night in photoshoot. This is something you can combine with a makeover party. You can have fun replicating scenes from movie posters or other popular images. If you have Photoshop skills you can stage photos of you and your friends and then insert yourselves into pictures with celebrities. Another great way to spend a night in with photos is to print several copies of your favorite photos of each other and have a scrapbooking party to memorialize your friendships.

Game Night

Plan a night for board games. You can be nostalgic and pull out some of the popular games you played when you were young, like Monopoly and Clue. You may also want to explore some new games that are more age-appropriate, such as Cards Against Humanity. A game night can be a great way to catch up with friends while having a good time. You can also make just about any game into a drinking game if you choose.
