UW-Madison to launch workplace wellness course in October

UW-Madison will launch its first ever massive open online course related to wellness in the workplace and return on investment Oct. 20.

The UW-Madison Health and Wellness Management program declared Tuesday they will collaborate with Dr. David Chenoweth, an expert acclaimed for his knowledge in wellness, on “Dynamics of Worksite Wellness Evaluation and ROI,” which will be available to the public free of charge.

Over the course of four weekly sessions, the MOOC will use a variety of videos, readings, activities and discussions to equip its participants with the abilities to evaluate worksite wellness programs of any size, determine the benefits of those programs and convince organization leaders of any wellness program’s effectiveness.

“This course has something for everyone,” Chenoweth said in the release.

The goal of the MOOC will be to curtail health care expenses and positively impact health, productivity and morale among employers and employees in small and large businesses.
