Tony Kurtz announced Tuesday he will run against U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wis., for Wisconsin’s third Congressional District.
Kurtz is a decorated former helicopter pilot and served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Kurtz retired from the U.S. Army in 2005 after 20 years of service.
Kurtz said in a statement he decided to run because he wants to address job creation, health care and federal spending.
“I’m excited to contrast my vision for a stronger America versus Ron Kind’s record of a failed, tax-and-spend big government agenda,” Kurtz said in the statement.
He said he would focus on reducing the federal budget if he is elected.
“Ron Kind has voted to pile unsustainable debt upon the backs of our children and grandchildren with no end in sight,” Kurtz said in the statement.
Kurtz currently runs a small business that teaches military personnel to investigate accidents.
