World renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson to visit UW-Madison

Acclaimed orator and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson will visit UW-Madison as keynote speaker for the university’s first Senior Day May 10.

DeGrasse Tyson is a highly regarded scientist and author of several books including the New York Times’ bestseller “Death by Black Hole and Other Cosmic Quandaries.”  He was also named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2007.

But the world-renowned scientist is known for more than his brain. People Magazine named deGrasse Tyson the “Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive.”

He will hold a book signing in the Memorial Union immediately following the keynote speech.

The event will take place on the Memorial Union Terrace at 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.  In the event of inclement weather, the speech will be relocated to the Wisconsin Union Theater and only UW students will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.

CORRECTION: Neil deGrasse Tyson will visit UW-Madison May 10, not March 10 as printed
