Madison bars can stay open one hour later when the clocks turn back for the end of daylight saving time Sunday morning.
Although Wisconsin statutes allow bars to remain open from 6 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., clocks turn back one hour from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday, extending Sunday by one hour.
Dane County Sheriff Elise Schaffer told The Capital Times although bars can stay open an hour later, there are currently no plans for extra officers to patrol the roads.
In the spring when daylight saving time begins, Wisconsin law permits bars to remain open until 3:30 a.m. so they do not miss an hour of business.
