'Bongo Jesus' arrested after battery on State Street

Brandin R. Hochstrasser, also known as Bongo Jesus, was arrested Thursday on four charges after a fight on State Street. Hochstrasser will face charges of battery, battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The incident began when the 54-year old male victim tried to speak to the suspect about the music he was playing. After exchanging words, police said the two began fighting and Hochstrasser hit the victim on the head with a guitar.

Hochstrasser also allegedly ran into the victim, sending him to the pavement. The victim was taken to a local hospital, told police he thought his hip was broken.

Authorities said a sergeant saw Hochstrasser slam a college-aged person into the wall of a State Street business, and when he tried to arrest Hochstrasser he resisted arrest. Hochstrasser allegedly tried to punch and kick the sergeant, and they both ended up on the floor of a local business.

The sergeant eventually handcuffed the suspect after subduing him with a Taser, police said.
