In a statement released Monday by UW Athletic Communications, it was revealed junior forward Brian Butch suffered a dislocation with an associated fracture of the right elbow in Sunday's game and will be out four to six weeks. The move will likely end Butch's season unless the Badgers make it to the Final Four.
""I'd like to thank all the fans that have expressed their concern with my condition and let them know that I will work hard to get back on the court as soon as I can,"" Butch said in the statement.
""We know how tough it will be for Brian to have to sit out but we also know the type of person he is and how hard he will work to get back,"" UW head coach Bo Ryan added.
Junior forward Greg Stiemsma will now see more time in Butch's absence.
