UW-Madison's party reputation met outcry again April 7 when Playboy released its May issue titled 2006 Party College Ratings.\
The issue featured 23 members of the UW-Madison chapter of the Delta Upsilon fraternity posing with 19 naked or partially undressed female students as part of an article that appoints UW-Madison the magazine's No. 1 party school.
Interim Dean of Students Lori Berquam plans to review the photo and may file a complaint with the Student Organizations Office, which will then investigate whether DU broke school rules.
""At first blush … it doesn't seem like anything discipline-wise really applies to this kind of situation,"" said University Communications Spokesperson John Lucas.
Vice President of UW-Madison's Intrafraternity Council, DU member and UW-Madison senior Noah Annes said IFC members will meet today to discuss the photo.
""Fraternities and sororities have done a lot in the past couple years to try to erase some of the stereotypes of ‘Animal House' and ‘Old School,'"" Lucas said. ""This seems to put the U. right back in that category.""
