The initiatives on today's ASM ballot

—A referendum asking if students support the Wisconsin Union Facilities Improvement Plan, a plan to renovate Memorial Union and rebuild Union South. If approved, WUFIP will raise student segregated fees by a maximum of $192 a year.

—A referendum asking if students support a living wage requirement: an hourly wage requirement equal to or greater than 110 percent of the most recent Federal Poverty Line for a family of four divided by 2080\ ($10.23 an hour) for all employees whose centers of employments, and thus their salaries, are supported ""either directly or indirectly"" by student seg fees. To be put into effect at the beginning of the next budget cycle.

Associated Students of Madison spring 2006 elections begin today and proceed until Thursday. UW-Madison students can vote online at www.vote.asm.wisc.edu.
