More contracts followed by campaign funds, WDC says

Recent findings showing Gov. Jim Doyle received $45,000 in re-election donations have spurred some to allege misconduct.

According to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, the latest donations stem from Chicago's Equis Corporation and Indianapolis-based Crowe Chizek, two out-of-state consulting firms.

Doyle has been under scrutiny for past state contracting procedures—most notably Adelman Travel. One of the governor's top administrative officials, Georgia Thompson, was indicted over alleged inflated ranking resulting in biased awarding of state travel contracts. Major campaign donations followed from both the president of Adelman Travel as well as a top board member.
